brithday!

so at least 3 times in the last week i've thought to myself, "oh, i should write that in my blog!" i haven't written anything down and for the life of me, i'm drawing a blank.

nissa's been up to a lot of new and exciting things, little things, but new none the less. she's as talkative as ever, recently adding a humming noise to her repertoire of "hey" and "ma" sounds. she's also discovered a raspberry-esque noise where she kind of hums and makes spit bubbles at the same time. i'm trying to get that one on tape soon. ha. on tape. nothing gets on tape anymore. funny.

nissa also has the habit of grabbing on her ears and folding them over, especially when she's tired. i've told adam and grandma a that if she complains about her ears sticking out when she's older, she only has herself to blame! like i'm going to take credit for that. no way.

our little wiggle worm has taken her wiggling to a whole new level.while in bed, presumably sleeping, she has twice now rotated herself 180' and scooted over to the corner of her bed. last night we peeked in and she was kicking her legs and was kicking the leg of the stuffed dog hanging on her bed. it was cute and funny.

nissa thinks singing the alphabet and eating are both hilarious. the alphabet especially will elicit squeals of joy and the biggest anime smile her little face can manage. it's really hilarious.

the big step this week is that nissa seems to be OK with sleeping longer. she's been sleeping 6-ish hours at a time, twice in a row, when she's down for the "night." i'd wake up to put her to bed and adam would get up to give her a mid-sleep snack. but the last few nights she's managed a full 8 hours with no complaints, although she's mighty hungry when she does wake up. not crazy screaming hungry, just move-quickly-and-i'll-be-fine hungry. works for us!!

i think i may have covered some of the things i wanted to write about. . . hmmmm.

anyways, my birthday today has been a good time so far. nissa and i got up early today and went over to the garfield conservatory. we got to say hello to a lot of wonderful people i knew from when i helped out with the nikki in the garden show. it truly is a wonderful place to work- so many nice people. nissa enjoyed meeting each and every one of them. i think she even liked the conservatory itself. she showed the most interest in the ceiling fans, but i suppose that's to be expected from someone her age.

we came home in time to wake up adam so he could go to work. it's a bummer he couldn't get today off, but we'll have time this weekend to do something i'm sure. tonight i plan to make a cake and order some chinese food before i call it a day. i have work tomorrow, so i cant' have too much fun tonight!!
